Samsung’s 2024 TVs will support 360 Audio over headphones – but there are two major catches
Samsung just made a big announcement! They’re adding something super cool to some of their TVs coming out this year: 3D Audio over headphones! This means when you’re watching your favorite shows or movies, it’ll feel like you’re right in the middle of the action, just like in a theater.
But here’s the scoop: not every TV will have this feature, but quite a few will. If you’re eyeing a QLED, 4K Neo QLED, 8K Neo QLED, or OLED model (including the S95D), you’re in luck!
Now, what’s this 3D Audio all about? Basically, it’s like magic for your ears.
Your TV sends out sounds that make it seem like they’re coming from all around you, even when you’re just wearing headphones! It’s kind of similar to Apple’s Spatial Audio on AirPods.
Samsung’s really going all out with this. They’re even adding head-tracking, so the sound moves with you as you move.
And get this – while Samsung has 360 Audio on some of their other devices like phones and tablets, this is the first time they’re bringing it to their TVs!
But, there’s a little hiccup. To enjoy this awesome feature, you’ll need to have Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2 or Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. They’re planning to release an update soon to make it work, but for now, those are the only headphones that’ll do the trick.
Now, here’s the bummer – Dolby Atmos won’t be part of the party. It seems like Samsung wants to try out their own fancy sound tech instead. So, while we’re missing out on Atmos, we might get to see some new cool stuff from Samsung down the road.
There are still some unanswered questions, though.
Like, which streaming services will support this feature? And will more headphones get in on the action? But the real question on everyone’s mind: is it going to be awesome? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see when we get our hands on those new Samsung TVs for 2024!
